Why We Don’t Rank, Rate, or Recommend

Rankings create urgency where none is needed. Ratings compress judgment into numbers that obscure nuance. Recommendations imply authority without accountability.

Vault & Valor avoids all three.

Our role is not to tell you what to buy. It is to document what holds up — and allow readers to decide for themselves. This requires patience, transparency, and a willingness to include less rather than more.

Judgment is contextual. What works for one person may not for another. Rankings flatten that reality. We choose not to participate.

Editorial independence requires restraint. That restraint is intentional.
